Hi! Jenn here, illustrator and character creator from North Cackalacky (Carolina). I love quirky characters, anthropomorphic inanimate objects, puns, potty humor, hand lettering, and obscure historical facts.
Whimsical retro style draws from midcentury picture books and vintage animation. With roots in journalism, advertising, and interior design, my creative process incorporates layered storytelling, cheeky charm, and meticulously researched world-building.
Projects include picture books, chapter books, and book covers for Bloomsbury, Clarion/HMH, Cantata Learning, and Highlights Magazine.
I have my BFA in Interior Design from Winthrop University, and I'm part of SCBWI and The Illustration Department.
Hobbies range from knitting to Netflix, reading, sipping copious amounts of coffee, and solving Murdles. Living on a family farm with one horse, two goats, three cats, three dogs, and eight chickens, I shovel a lot of poo.
Superpowers: riding a 1,800-pound horse on the buckle, wrangling snakes from the chicken coop, and skipping rope without tripping.
